Star Trails Over NASA
Sleep Tracker

So this week I'm down in Fort Sumner, NM for a high altitude balloon launch. My capstone design project for the University of Colorado Aerospace program was to make a star tracker for a big balloon, going up to about 125,000 feet. Hopefully, its the first one ever to work in daytime at altitude, and we call it DayStar. My job was to design and build the camera system (a super advanced cool camera) from the ground up, and interface it with a flight computer. I'll find some pics of the camera and post later. Its pretty cool.

Its pretty much been a big frantic year, ending in a really frantic week. We have spent pretty much every minute in this hanger, getting everything ready to go. Since Monday, I've had an average of 2.5 hours of sleep per day, and its great!

This was taken on Monday night, our first all-nighter. I have a time lapse I'll post later of this same scene that worked out pretty cool. Launch was scheduled for today, but cancelled due to winds. Trying again tomorrow at 3:45 AM!

I have some funny videos from the late evening debugging sessions, check them out here if you feel the need.
